EXCELLENT PEOPLE
Excellent People A cautionary tale for all writers who take themselves too seriously, who refuse to acknowledge any criticism of their work, and seek to be adored at all cost.
I loved Chekhov's Excellent People... I think, though, that his sister's resistance to evil (going from nonpracticing doctor to public service) engraved her in the memory of those she helped. Meanwhile, when her brother died, he was forgotten due to his nonresistance to evil. Good luck on your journey of Chekhov short stories :)
